Dearborn Industrial Generation
- This 80,500 sq. ft. multi-unit complex was built on a fast-track schedule to replace a previous facility destroyed in an explosion. Butler Heavy Structures provided the structural steel and cladding systems for all units, except the Boiler House. Welded-up, step-crane columns were used in both the Gas and Steam Turbine buildings to support a 65-ton and 85-ton crane, respectively.
Framing for the Gas Turbine building was complicated by a 35' roof step and support framing for the large air intake units. A standing seam metal roof system and metal wall panel system was used on all of the units, including the 100' tall Boiler House which was designed and supplied by others.
