Project Details

Linden, New Jersey
103,000 square feet
End Use: Manufacturing and Industrial

Butler Heavy Structures provided the structural steel design and the primary, secondary and cladding materials for this 123,000-square-foot multi-unit combined cycle complex. This is an addition to an existing facility and the new complex includes a steam turbine building that houses two steam turbine generators and two gas turbine buildings that house a total of four gas turbine generators. Welded-up, step-crane columns were used in all the buildings to support 70-ton and 10-ton auxiliary CMAA Class C top running bridge cranes.

All the primary steel framing was hot-dipped galvanized, with secondary framing formed from galvanized sheet and coil materials. A standing seam metal roof system was used on all of the units as well as metal wall panels. Butler Heavy Structures also designed and supplied all the miscellaneous metal (platforms, towers, and caged ladders) for the buildings.
