Project Details
Work included a guest reception area, ticketing windows, admission control points, offices, changing rooms, showers, restrooms, and kitchen.
The project was started in October 2016 and was completed in time for the opening of the park on May 27, 2017. The accelerated schedule was due to the seasonal nature of the facility.
The basis for the building design was a Lester Structural System utilizing a non-embedded Uni-frame. The 35′ wide x 130′ long building has 2:12 single slope roof and is designed to accept a potential solar panel system. The interior walls consist of both concrete blocks and steel stud framing covered with sheetrock depending on the internal use. Ceiling consists of a gypsum board system with usable attic space. Insulation meets the requirements of the latest energy codes. Exterior also includes two carriage style sectional overhead doors.
The facility offers improved traffic flow into the park through the use of ticketing windows and controlled access points. It has a guest relations area that will allow quicker access to guest relations personnel. Office space for management, staff and includes a First Aid room. The changing area includes enclosed showers, booths, and restrooms. This area meets all applicable ADA codes and includes a Family Assist restroom. The kitchen is capable of providing refreshments to customers of the park and could be used to cater events as the need arises.
