US Coast Guard Search & Rescue

US Coast Guard Search & Rescue

Project Details

Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mt. Clemens, MI
13,750 square feet
End Use: Helicopter Hangar

The United States Coast Guard was scheduled to receive two new helicopters at their Search & Rescue Facility in Mt. Clemens and needed two hangars fast! Because the projects were fast-track, they decided to use the Government Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) rather than the usual drawn-out procurement process. Suppliers under the FSS have already been tested as being the best possible value. The project was finished ahead of schedule and under budget. The base commander was very complimentary, stating he never believed the project could be finished before his pending transfer to a new location.
