Evergreen Family Medical
An aging public building is transformed into a modern healthcare destination, bringing multiple practices together to better serve the community under a new Butler® roof system.
Project
Overview
Bringing people together under a new roof, Evergreen Family Medical combines two practices in an old, distressed building that needed a lot of renovation and care.
Completed in 2019, the project unified Evergreen Family Medicine and Roseburg Women’s Health under one roof, creating a single destination for family practice, women’s health and a medical residency program while extending the service life of a building originally constructed in 1975 for the State of Oregon.
The project involved the comprehensive renovation of a two-story wood framed building, along with exterior improvements that reinforced durability and architectural presence.
The building structure utilizes a multistory structural system designed to support long-term performance and adaptability.
Above, the VSR II™ Architectural Metal Roof System provides weather protection and architectural while reinforcing durability appropriate for the Pacific Northwest climate. Exterior wall updates delivered a refined appearance and improved thermal performance.
The scope required complete interior reconfiguration to support clinical workflows, patient privacy and contemporary medical standards. New mechanical, electrical and low-voltage systems were integrated throughout the facility, aligning infrastructure performance with the demands of today’s healthcare environments.
From the outset, the objective was clear. The renovated space needed to reflect the experience and aesthetic of Evergreen Family Medicine’s existing Roseburg location while elevating functionality and comfort.
Design decisions focused on continuity, warmth and clarity. The interior renovation introduced consistent colors, textures and materials that echo the character of the original practice.
Wood elements, large windows and soft finishes were used to create a light, inviting atmosphere that supports both patient comfort and practitioner focus.
The renovation avoided unnecessary complexity, instead prioritizing flow, daylight and material quality. This clarity allowed the building to support a wide range of functions, from exam rooms and clinical support spaces to administrative offices and training areas for the residency program.
The project was completed on time for client move-in and delivered under budget, reinforcing trust at every stage of execution.
Quality guided every decision. Finish materials were selected for durability, maintenance efficiency and visual consistency.
The result is a medical environment that balances efficiency with humanity. By reimagining an existing structure through precision renovation and coordinated delivery, the project delivers assurance to patients, practitioners and the broader community it serves.
